Hi everyone, this is my first post, so forgive the newbies for any forum tricks. Well, I didn’t let this type of player down or anything – it certainly couldn’t wake up from REM sleep one day, and the post-test repeated it without turning into a Windows 7 splash screen. It’s Win 7, 500GB hard If you plug it in it to another Windows Linux computer, the drive will appear because it is uninitialized/unallocated. So I ran an instant scan with TestDisk. Before running the scan it said partition: read error and during a particular scan every cylinder/sector/everything is flagged with this read error. Fast The scan decided not to find any partitions. I ran CrystalDiskInfo and it shows up as “OK” (I can post the required screenshot). I scanned it with Partition Find & Mount but couldn’t find wall structures even with a deep scan. I also ran a scan with the Minitool Partition Wizard just to see when it finds something and finds a partition, but I would exhaust other options before settling on a 1pc license. – _ – … In any case, any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!< /p>

Here is the log of an actual TestDisk quick scan (I accidentally scheduled another scan later and stopped it immediately, so your “partition search might be cancelled”, I’m never sure):< /p>

Why is my test disk so slow?

Read errors can cause the test disk to freeze or the scan speed to slow down significantly. It also depends on how much you get? Has Crystaldiskinfo at least reported that your CD/DVD is GOOD?

What should I do if TestDisk displays damaged data?

If testdisk shows your resources, you can try copying/backing them up to another healthy disk with a partition. If your file system is corrupted, you need to use data recovery software.

I’m determined to solve my 6TB Seagate hard drive problem (it was exFAT formatted with 3.5TB data) with testdisk , but I think thatexacerbated the situation:

  • I left the files on the copier overnight, and in the morning the real Mac showed a notification that the drive hadn’t ejected properly, in which case I couldn’t eject it. ‘elevate
  • Before using testdisk I could actually see the drive being grayed out in Disk Utility and displaying errors when trying to mount, but after the following I can’t anymore:

    1. Running testdisk to load showed the following
None of the partitions on this disk can remain mounted: Open Disk Utility and click the Unmount button for each full disk.

I chose Next in combination with the automatically recognized partition table type as EFT GPT

    2. Deep Search showed the actual number of errors with the EFI partition and said something is != 1 because it only completed 0.3% because it was deleted overnight< /li>
    3. A quick search showed two categories: EFI and MS Data
    4. Analysis Quick search showed that the disk was early There was no P
    5. P confirms that almost all files were there > Write > Y was very fast, but even today I can’t help but drive up see my mac
    6. I was wondering if this should be related to the message shown in #1, so I re-ran sudo testdisk and then through sudo diskutil unmountDisk Search /dev /disk2 unmount
      1. quick> EFI as well as MS data are recognized, but MS data is issued as D(eleted)< /Code>
      2. P confirms that all files go there > P instead of D(eleted) > Write (took ~10–15 sec.)

HDD neo disappears from Disk Utility and the diskutil list does not show the EFI partition part:

  • testdisk no longer automatically records partition type
  • According to the partition classification I chose, it says:
    Intel: Partition: read error.
    EFI GPT : < code>Try a different GPT
  • Quick Search takes some time to complete, while this method used to take about 15-20 minutes, recently it took over 3 hours
  • testdisk read error every cylinder
