The DivX 3 codec was originally based on the Microsoft MPEG-4 Form 3 codec. Microsoft effectively locked its own codec so that it could no longer be used for AVI recording (it could only be encoded in Microsoft’s proprietary ASF format). A small part of DivX is a change that re-enables AVI encoding (albeit with a different legal name and fourcc).
DivX 3 comes in two different versions: a low motion version (fourcc DIV3) and a fast motion version (fourcc DIV4 – NOT to be confused with DivX 4). The low motion codec is taken from MS MPEG-4 v3 version 4.1.00.3920, and the fast motion codec is also from version 4.1.00.3917.
Notes:
– Newer versions of DivX (4, 5, 6, 7) as well as 3ivx can install DivX 3 decoding content
– DivX 4, 5, 6, pro 7 removes a large number of DivX codecs from your software collection to add / remove them as needed. For both to exist at the same time, DivX 3 uses AFTER installation 4, 5 different, 6 or 7.
– There is also a test codec divx 3.22, although this is only divx 3.11 with a parameter definition patch.

I was unable to use the contents of my Vegas media player. I did a huge amount of editing workout with VirtualDub, and the fact that it doesn’t do video editing usually complicates things a little, so I bought Vegas.
My latest viral videos are mostly in XviD or DivX 5 and no one downloads Vegas 5.0b. I’ve searched the forums, removed all codecs, re-readI installed XviD (my favorite of the two to get the encoding) but still not. FFDShow also didn’t solve the dilemma. I tried to split my video clip into two files, one AVI for video only and one WAV for VBR / CBR LameMP3 audio. The sound played almost all the time, which made me waste disk space without deleting anything.
I’ve tried all combinations of “Ignore third party DV codecs”, “Use Microsoft DV codec” and “Strictly according to AVI2 specification”, damn it, and still no … If I go to Features, sera video file ”(Stream offline mode) “is the order of the day.
These files display perfectly in Windows Media Player, Media Player Classic, BS Player, etc. and can also be fully edited in VirtualDub and therefore NanDub.

The only way to properly load everything in Vegas is to save it as an uncompressed AVI file, which is ridiculous when using a professional video editing package.
