Microsoft’s adoption of Dolby Digital is governed by the Microsoft Dolby Digital Apps Limited Licensing Program Terms.

1. Microsoft’s implementation of Dolby Digital is limited to use of Microsoft applications during the term of the On Dolby Digital license.

For digital theater systems (DTS) input, the S/PDIF output is always used via (dts supports s/pdif). Audio decoding is not tracked.

An earlier version of the documentation stated that this filter could “decode MPEG-2 audio”. The filter decodes backward compatible mpeg-2 audio.

Starting with Windows 7, the decoder graphic supports a special mode using the properties of the Rate Change set. It supports playback outputs in the range [0.501 – 2.0], where 1.0 is normal playback speed and 2.0 is double normal speed.

Property avdeccommonoutputformat should always be connected before the decoder’s output key. Otherwise, the change has no effect.

Interpreted as quantization vectors, vectors with red, green and blue components have been quantized using an adaptive codebook that is sufficient for two inputs.
